Castletown:       Youth  Centre

Castletown is the largest youth centre in the south of the Island and is therefore open 6 nights per week. The inside was refurbished by its members a few years ago and has now become an ongoing masterpiece!! Facilities include, sports hall, café, pool room etc and there are various clubs on offer; Soundcheck, Manx National Youth Theatre, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, lunch time drop in, Homework club plus play, youth and senior clubs. It is situated in Arbory Street not far from Castle Rushen High School.

There are plans for some alterations in the new year - it is hoped to build a stage in the sports room with lights and sound etc which will involve moving the pool tables to the other side of the room. We are looking for a use for the “old smoke room” - maybe a chill out area and also a storage area at the top of the front stairways.
