The Studio Theatre
“The Studio Theatre” (formally ‘Hall A’) was created in unison between Ballakermeen High School and the Isle of Man Arts Council to provide a state of the art performance area for members of the Isle of Man’s performing arts community, including those within the school community. The Studio Theatre is served by a purpose built dressing and makeup room with shower facilities and a live feed to the performance area. Entrance to the Studio Theatre is via a purpose built reception foyer with snack bar for interval periods.
The ‘Seating Area’ is a multi-functional space built primarily to serve as an entrance foyer for the Studio Theatre. During a performance in the Studio Theatre the Seating Area provides a welcome reception area for guests and the food outlet is used to serve drinks and snacks during intervals. When the Studio Theatre is not being used for a performance, the Seating Area is used by students as a social area for break and lunch periods. During the spring and early summer weeks the snack bar is used for the sale of sandwiches and soup during lunch periods.
