Braddan School Welcomes You

Our Vision for learning

Braddan School is a learning community that enables pupils, staff and parents to fully develop their learning capacities and dispositions, in a happy, safe and nurturing environment.

Our Mission Statement

Braddan School is here to provide a stimulating, secure and happy environment. We strongly believe that children’s time at Braddan School should be an enjoyable and enriching experience. This will prepare them for the next stage of their education and help them to become well rounded individuals who engage in lifelong learning, who will make positive contributions to society and recognise their rights and responsibilities within this.

The desired outcomes of the Department of Education and Children’s curriculum for ‘readiness,’ ‘relationships,’ ‘resourcefulness,’ ‘resilience,’ ‘remembering skills’ and ‘reflectiveness’ are at the heart of everything we do. Our core purpose is to develop and motivate the whole child.

Classrooms are challenging learning environments which recognise multiple learning styles and cater for pupil choice, individual pupil-led learning and collaborative activities; where independence of thought and action are fostered and encouraged.

We strive for our School to be a place where children and teachers enjoy working together enthusiastically to achieve the highest personal standards in every area of life. The warmth of our welcome and quality of care reflect the high importance that we put upon personal well-being.

We facilitate children to be eager to learn and be very proud of their school and their own success. We teach children to be caring towards others; aware of their responsibilities and encourage them to make considered choices to promote a healthy lifestyle.

At Braddan School we expect high standards of behaviour. We believe that staff and pupils should share important values such as tolerance, honesty, respect and trust. Many opportunities will be provided for all pupils to develop their understanding of these values. We include all pupils regardless of race, gender, ability or religion.

Our staff are dedicated to developing both personally and professionally, working towards  the aims and vision of the school. Staff will provide challenging and stimulating learning opportunities in a carefully considered environment, working together to ensure the children achieve their very best. We will always work to raise standards of achievement.

Our parents are a vital and valued part of school life. We require them to work in partnership with the school to promote and encourage their children’s learning and development. By choosing to send their child to Braddan School, we expect that they will support the aims, work and endeavours of the school.

We aim for Braddan School to be an important part of the local community, and encourage visitors into school, as well as supporting local events.
