The Tell Me Project

Our year six have become the first pupils to hold a showcase event for The Tell Me Project.

They were congratulated on their achievement by Penny Creighton, MBE, chief executive of Age Concern Isle of Man, a core partner of The Tell Me Project, when she was invited to the school with Professor Hugh Davidson, of the H&S Davidson Trust, one of the project’s sponsors, to view the pupils’ Tell Me exhibition.

Our two year 6 classrooms were rearranged as a museum, with displays set out in themes, including fashion, home life and travel, with laptops linked to headphones for playing the pupils’ recorded interviews with older people.

After touring the classrooms Professor Hugh Davidson said: ‘I’m really excited by what I’ve seen. It’s exactly what we’d hoped for.

Since January, the children have been researching, planning and carrying out interviews with people over 60 to find out about life in the past! The museum is their collection of all the work they have produced!
