In Year 2 as part of our History we visited Cregneash. Cregneash is near PortSt Mary. It is at the top of a hill. We learned about how people used to live on the island a long time ago. We also made some butter, visited Harry Kelly's cottage and made 'Bonnag' and tasted it! Then we found out how the farming industry was so important on the island.

In Cregneash the children learnt lots of new things. One of their favourite things was making butter.

"We put cream and water in a jar and shook it until it turned into butter. It was fun" Scott R

" I liked the way the cream changed into butter, it was like magic." Kristina

We learned all about the Farming Industry.

These are the ploughs that they used a long time ago. The farmer used to fix them onto horses and they would pull the plough along.

"They were very heavy" Sara

"I couldn't move it because it was so heavy" Jacob

We heard all about how cereals and flour are made. We found out how important they are in our healthy eating. This was interesting!
