Literacy

To explore the organisational features of non fiction texts. How paragraphs are used to presrent text and how to make notes into thier own paragrpahs.To experiment with different forms and language patterns when writing independent poetry. To be encouraged to check own work for correct puntucation and spelling . The vocabulary focus is the use of apostrophes and tenses used in wiritng.

Numeracy

Comparing and ordering numbers to 10,000. Able to identify the place value of 4 digit numbers. Counting in steps of 10, 100, 1000. Reading a variety of scales and dials. Multiplying by 10 and 100. Adding and subtracting 2/3 digit numbers- explaining working and methods. ‘real life’ and money problems; in words. Measure including problems [capacity, mass and length]. Name and describe features of 2D & 3D shapes. Classify shapes using - right angles and lines of symmetry.Data handling - interpreting information shown on a range of graphs.

Science

There are two main topics this term :
