Crab-eating Macaque

These handsome monkeys come from many parts of S.E. Asia, where they live in groups of about 30.
Do they really eat crabs? Yes, they do, but their main diet is actually fruit!

Did you know?

These monkeys have the small, downward-facing nostrils which are found in all monkeys from Africa and Asia. Monkeys from S America have wide, sideways-facing nostrils!

Wow!

In a group of macaques, one big male is usually the boss. He mates with all the females - the other males don't get a look in!
