Hissing Cockroach |
The hissing cockroach is from Madagascar. It is one of the biggest cockroaches in the world! It gets its name because it makes a loud hissing noise when it is disturbed. Cockroaches belong in the group of animals known as insects. Like all insects, they have six legs and three body sections. |

You can easily tell the difference between male and female cockroaches because males have two bumps on their body that look rather like horns. Females don't have these bumps. |

Hissing cockroaches do not bite, sting or fly away so they can safely be handled (if you dare!) |
