Parma Wallaby

The parma wallaby is smaller than the red-necked wallaby (also at the Wildlife Park) and much more rare in the wild.

Like all types of wallaby, it comes from Australia and carries its baby in a pouch.

Did you know?

Parma wallabies come from the forests of New South Wales, which is in the south east corner of Australia. They are sometimes known as white-throated wallabies.

Wow!

At one time the Parma Wallaby was thought to be extinct. Then, in the 1960s it was discovered that some had survived.
