Red-fronted Lemur

Lemurs are primates (in the same animal group as monkeys, apes and people).

They come from the island of Madagascar, off the east coast of Africa.

Did you know?

Sadly, the forests where lemurs live are being destroyed to make way for farmland.

Wow!

Red-fronted lemurs spend most of their time in the trees. Baby lemurs cling firmly to their mother's tummy as she climbs and leaps in the branches. When they get too big for this (at about 3 weeks old) they ride on her back instead!
