These bats are found only on the island of Rodrigues in the Indian ocean.They are considered to be "critically endangered" which means that there are only a few of them left on earth. If people keep killing them and destroying their trees they might soon become extinct. |

The wings of a bat are made of a thin membrane stretched across very long finger bones. They are very agile in the air - weaving and diving between the trees; however on land they are very slow and clumsy. |
